Start
at Svindinge church and the school.
The vicarage is south of the school. Hans Christian Andersen visited the
vicar often during his stay at Glorup. Here also a certain Mads Henningsen
was tutor for the vicars children, and met Agnes, a niece to the forester.
They married and Agnes Henningsen was later a known writer.
Visit
the church and take a walk at the
cemetery, a typical village cemetery where the social structure and
history can be read on the gravestones. Continue down to the beautiful
village pond with fountain and a bench to enjoy the idyll.
The
long house across the road is "Stiftelsen". It was an
establishment for housing of elderly pensioned servants from Glorup.
The house as it stands now was build in 1853 on the occasion of count Adam
Moltke-Huitfeldts silver wedding.
Along
Svendborgvej is several master builder houses from about 1900 among older
half-timbered houses. Take a special look on no. 80 and the house on the
corner Svendborgvej / Lamdrupvej (Lamdrupvej no. 103).
